Oasis Interiors is one of the largest, local “shop at home” Hunter Douglas product dealers with more than 23 years experience. What has helped attribute to your success? What really sets me apart from other Hunter Douglas distributors’ is the fact that I’m a certified Hunter Douglas installer – the only one who both sells and installs blinds (as most other dealers hire an independent person/company to do the installation.) Customer service is priority one.
It must be a competitive market. How do you differentiate yourself from other local competitors? Through Hunter Douglas, all of my customers have a 10-year warranty on their blinds. One good example is last summer during a sale with a past customer I realized a defect in the fabric of an older blind. After pointing it out to the customer and assuring them it could be replaced, the blind turned out to be 11 years old – just over the warranty. However, because of my high volume of business, Hunter Douglas replaced it for free. As long as Hunter Douglas stands behind the replacement warranty, I don’t charge customers for trip costs. Without a doubt I am able to give much better service than most companies “will.”
Your company has been a Chamber member since 1999. What was your initial involvement with the Boulder Chamber? My first introduction to the Chamber was asking Dave Rubin, owner of A Spice of Life Events & Catering, to sign me up at the 7:30/4:30 Club membership drive meeting This was a great event where I met a lot of my business contacts and peers – some that I still see today at Business After Hours. Also for two years I was avidly involved as a chamber ambassador which helped me grow a network of business contacts in this community.
